Wild in the Streets

I said it then, and I will say it again: beware of street protests that topple governments, because they will turn into mob rule. The celebration of supposedly-democratic movements that take to the streets emboldens them, to the point in which they start acting like a power unto themselves. Once they taste the power to get rid of a government, it becomes increasingly difficult to control them. There is no longer any patience with the next government. People refuse to accept authority. Anarchy ensues.

Democracy takes time and thoughtfulness. There is neither on streets full of violence.
