Corruption Here, There And Everywhere

There's a recall vote scheduled for tomorrow for the mayor of Miami. It seems that, while taking extreme measures to balance the city budget, he was spending money on himself and some of his cronies. This is the case all too often: politicians who claim to be "doing the right thing" by tightening the public belt, are, at the same time, favoring themselves and their friends at the taxpayers' expense. On the one hand, they fire low-level public employees; on the other hand, they raise the salaries of executives and other high-level personnel, spend money on fancy cars and use public employees as personal assistants.

On this issue, there's very little difference between Miami, Florida and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
