Too Many Judges Spoil the Law

The Inter-American Court of Human Rights has ordered Chile to pay a lesbian damages for having denied her the custody of her three daughters in a dispute with her husband. What is most striking about the case is the  fact that the woman is a judge, her former husband is also a judge and the ruling was made by Chile's Supreme Court. Evidently, the "best interests of the child" criteria is meant to be interpreted favorably only as pertaining to heterosexuals. All legal principles go out the window, when homosexuality comes into play. People who should know better, and are supposed to protect civil and human rights, act as part of the ignorant and prejudiced majority.

Fortunately, supra-national entities such as the Court of Human Rights have a chance to undo and rectify miscarriages of justice such as this one.
