Good Riddance!
They're trying to figure out how a 15-year-old American girl was mistakenly deported to Colombia. True, the girl gave a false name, said she was 21 and was in trouble with the law. But, on the other hand, she spoke no Spanish and, being a runaway for a year and a half, there was no way of corroborating her story. It took a while for Colombian authorities to realize she was not a Colombian national.
Here's my explanation. The girl is black, uses drugs and is no model citizen. So, the Americans, eager to get rid of as many illegal aliens as possible -- especially if they're black -- jumped at the chance, not bothering to ask too many questions, and have ended with egg on their faces and, soon enough, as defendants in a lawsuit brought by the girl's family.
